The Scarlet & Violet era marks a significant phase in the Pokemon TCG, coinciding with the release of the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet video games. The most notable change that Scarlet & Violet ushered in was the switch from yellow card borders to silver, matching Japan for the first time in over 25 years. Not only that, but in line with developments during the Sword & Shield era, Trainer Gallery cards feature heavily in the Scarlet & Violet era. In terms of game mechanics, Ex Pokemon returned, marking the end of the Vstar/Vmax era. Two of the most notable were new legendaries Miraidon and Koraidon.
