XY introduced Pokemon fans to the Kalos region and Generation VI Pokemon. Adding to the EX mechanic, the XY series introduced Mega Evolutions - M Pokemon-EX were a whole new level of power within the TCG. In the years that followed, GX and V Pokemon would pick up the mantel and continue the power creep. The XY series also introduced some exciting new legendaries, Xerneas and Yveltal. All of this combined, along with XY Evolutions, which, in effect, reprinted the original Base Set, made XY a great series for collectors.
